An Award Winning Wedding Day Dream at Hatley Castle and the Empress Hotel, Victoria, BC

Saturday 21 January 2017

OK!  Where do I start!  I remember the very first email I received from the gorgeous Alli Walker of Alli Walker Music.  It was a typical inquiry and we set up a consultation date to meet and discuss ideas.  We ended up meeting and discussing the inspiration over caesars and I knew we were a fit!  We had a blast discussing all the details, and when I say details, Alli knew exactly what she wanted.  Her ideas were find tuned and my heart fluttered in LOVE.  It truly was a wedding vendors dream.  Vintage details all in the right places, decor on par and a floral colour palette that will steal anyone's heart away.  Not to mention a dream team of wedding pros to pull it all off.  I immediately suggested she needed to speak with Danielle of Trend Decor as Danielle is also OCD with details, and I mean that in a good way.  Once we completed our initial consultation, Alli flew back home and the wedding was finalized over emails right up until the wedding day.

Take a look at Alli's bridal bouquet.  I wanted to produce a very 'organized' garden inspired bouquet for her.  She was very specific with the colours and over all styling of the bouquet.  She wanted minimal greenery and a touch of peach.  We included the always coveted juliet David Austin garden roses, white o'hara garden roses, peony (but of course!), hydrangea, spray roses and just a touch of queen annes lace for added texture and depth into the bouquet.  Blush Wedding Photography absolutely captured the bouquet in it's entirety!  Thank you.

Let's talk ceremony!  I can honestly say this ceremony was what I have been waiting for.  Vintage details cascaded all over Hatley's gardens.  Bash Speciality arrived with vintage chairs, couchs, and settees which made such a huge impactful statement and all guests were seated amongst the awesomeness.  Trend Decor stationed vintage pedestals and side tables while we enhanced all of this with flowers set into vintage silver tea pots and mixed china, garlands and unique floral accents.

The perfect flower girl with the most perfect flower crown.

It's not often we get the sweetest images of our boutonnieres, this one captured so so perfectly. Again, hat's off to Blush Wedding Photography.

This Dina Lonzi bridal gown - priceless!

Once the ceremony was completed, we headed over to The Fairmont Empress to tackle the reception which was held in the 'Library' room.  Mantlscapes and tablescapes were created to make the room transform into any brides dream.

Vintage china, gold candelabras, bird cages, and gold mercury glass filled the table with beautiful arrangements.  No surface was left un-touched.

Creating an arrangement on a vintage typewriter, defiantly a bucket list arrangement!

Can we stop and talk about this absolutely STUNNING wedding cake created by Sweet Surrender Cakes!  Hands down one of the most incredible cakes I have seen.  The attention to detail was perfection!

We were able to use many floral ingredients form my personal cutting garden including cosmos, poppy seed pods, cafe au lait dahlias, nigella greens and Queen Anne's Lace.  Weddings always touch my heart just a bit more when I can produce such beauty from the garden!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with this couple and I wish Alli so much success on her musical career.  I not only got to reap the benefits of creating such beauty, but this wedding also won Platinum Floral Designs 2016 Best Overall Wedding Florist - Vancouver Island via Vancouver Island Wedding Awards.  THANK YOU!

I couldn't have produced such an incredible wedding without the handful of amazing wedding pros.  Here's the A list:

Decor:  Trend Decor
Venue: Ceremony:  Hatley Castle
Venue: Reception:  The Fairmont Empress
Alli's Gown: Dina Lonzi Bridal
Stationary:  Studio 745

Oh my goodness! I have sooooo been waiting to see some photos from Alli and Eric's wedding! such a clear vision of what they wanted...and look how it unfolded! Tina, the flowers were sublime. Danielle, her whole vision of getting martried was clear, and you brought it to life in perfect detail. And Blush's photos are luscious. Awesome job, all of you. This was one of my most remarkable ceremonies this year...we actually served tea to all the guests...but what else would you expect from a couple so remarkable themselves??
