Westcoast Boho Inspirational Styled Shoot - Featured on Love and Lavender

Tuesday, 9 December 2014

Sometimes being an artist means you get itchy, and you itch until you create!  This is exactly what had happened here.  So I sat down and gathered a team of amazing Victoria, BC wedding vendors whom I knew would pull my vision together swimmingly.  I wanted to create a Boho wedding  inspirational set, but with a twist.  I wanted to amp up the vision and make the Boho world just a little blingy with the right touches and stationed at a very special place close to my heart here in Metchosin, BC!

We created a Westcoast themed greens only cascade bridal bouquet using locally grown ivy and ordered plumosa in to create a little whimsy.  This bouquet may not be to everyone's taste, it was all Boho for me and a time to be creative.... I loved it.  I decided to attached tulle to the bouquet to create an extended soft feel.... loved the way it all blew in the wind that day.

The day began at my house where Erin Bradley of Beauty and Style By Erin Bradley transformed our "faux wedding couple" into our Boho couple!  Victoria Bridal Boutique provided a soft blush gown which suited the vision perfectly.  We loaded the truck and the van and headed down to the beach to create a romantic setting with the most perfect view.

Blingy no?  I can't get enough of this image.  The low table created such an intimate setting and a view to die for (Westcoast at it's finest).  Trend decor knocked the socks off our feet and took the vision in exactly the right direction.  Anything gold I love!  I am simply in love with gold accents right now.  Don't forget, gold can be paired with any colour to create a stunning wedding theme.

Because we were using a blue asian influenced plating, I decided to create a centerpiece with just a slight asian flare as well using textural items which speak for themselves and branches that took advantage of negative space.

No detail was overlooked by the team of wedding pros.  Tam of Blue Lily Event planning ensured everything was placed just so (as she always does, xo).  Tuktu Paper Co. created all our stationary for the shoot and she too hadn't overlooked any detail and created these custom feather name tags for us!  Adorable no?

Our stunning little wedding cake created by Schur to Please had a little special surprise for our couple on the inside.... take a look.

Colour me Ombre wedding cake!  Love it! PS - SO delish!

I wanted to add just a little something special to this shoot and asked Chef Nick Waters of Toque Catering to take part.  Seriously!  If you are looking for an incredible caterer for your next event, please don't miss out on speaking with Nick, truly one of the kindest persons, not to mention a truly inspiring Chef with artful creations that make your mouth salvitate.  I emailed Nick to see if he could create some delicious Westcoast infused appe's right down on the open pit fire we were going to create.... well, watch what's next, truly blew the socks right off my feet...... So as the sun began to set behind the tree line, we had our couple join us to enjoy some of the creations created.....

Oh and yes, PS - I do have a candle obsession (trust me, if you book a consultation with us and you're having a later soiree, I'll convince you, you need to create ambience with candlelight - literally changes everything!) - just look at the beautiful light being created by all those candles - melts my heart everytime....... OK, back to Nick and his creations......

Ok, Chef Waters - scallops cooking on heated rocks..... AMAZING!

Once we felt we had enough shots up by our boho table setting, we asked our couple to move down to the beach, where we had set a very romantic display of lanterns and candles.... we even had our couple roast freshly made gourmet marshmellows....  so swoonworthy - not a fan of that word, but so fitting right now.

Gourmet smores, only way to roll...... seriously!

SO, we were all pretty thrilled when this shoot was featured on Love and Lavender - click here to view even more images from this shoot :)
