Part 2 of our David Foster Foundation event held at Oak Bay Beach Hotel - the Tree of Life. We were asked to return and construct another Tree of Life for the 2nd annual David Foster Foundation Event.  Displayed in the grand lobby at the hotel, stood 14 feet tall and was a visual tribute to the very real faces of  David Foster Foundation children awaiting life-saving organ transplants.  It is a tribute to the hope each child, and their families, carry as they journey through their lives.

The Tree comes to life with images of children the foundation has helped.  We hung their images from the limbs of the tree, each child surviving a life saving transplant.   Although constructing a tree like this is time consuming, hard and long hours - every piece that goes into it, every crystal strand, image, flower, every person that passes by and asks about the tree, I know it brings hard thought into signing up to become a organ donor or donating funds to help a family during this time.  It really makes it all worth while.  We are incredibly honoured to create such a meaningful piece!

The foundation is dedicated to providing financial support to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants.  In addition to helping families with their non-medical expenses, the Foundation strives to increase organ donor awareness in both Canada and the US.  Since 1986, the Foundation has assisted over 700 families with children in need of major organ transplants and provided millions of dollars in financial support.
