A Seedy Workshop - Metchosin, British Columbia

Tuesday, 25 June 2013

SO many things to blog about, now that we have our awesome new blog.  Trying to catch up is never ending!  But back in late March I decided to host a Seedy Workshop after I discovered many ladies I knew had no idea how to seed start.  It was a great way to gather people in Metchosin ( it was held at our beautiful Metchosin Co-op Preschool - thank you!) and teach them to grow there very own patio or full scaled garden either vegetable or flower.

Each one of our guests began with a booklet full of information they could later refer to.

They learned how to create there very own seed starting soil mix instead of buying the pre-packaged seed start!  Saving money in the long run!

As we began to fill our trays, there were many discussions, questions, answers and a few good laughs.

There's some of the girls actually reading the seed packets to ensure they had enough space and the right conditions to grow successfully.

We even discussed how to seed start without any soil at all, increasing our germination rates!

And there they are!  The class of ladies who are now in early June already enjoying fresh garden peas and growing some other fabulous choices!  Well done.  Stay tuned in the future, we loved holding this class and had amazing feedback.  We'll most definitely expand on our workshops.  We'll keep you posted on our next one available!
